
Idol auditions attract crowds
Hordes of American Idol hopefuls hang tight while waiting for their shot at stardom. Auditions for Fox TV’s “American Idol” rolled into Minneapolis Sept. 8 as contestants swarmed the Target Center hoping to become the next Kelly Clarkson or Taylor Hicks. At 5 a.m. the first day of try-outs, it was cool and dreary but that didn’t dampen the spirits of the contestants. |

Primary Winner
Keith Ellison will run against Republican Alan Fine and Independent Tammy Lee in Minnesota's 5th District on Nov. 7.
Ellison defeated Mike Erlandson and Ember Junge in the recent DFL primary. Gov. Tim Pawlenty will face DFLer Mike Hatch and Independent Peter Hutchinson.
