New creative writing degree offered

NCC will launch a new Associate of Fine Arts in Creative Writing degree starting this fall.

This degree is designed for all types of students who wish to improve their writing skills and learn more about specific forms of creative writing while they complete general education requirements. Once the degree is completed, students can continue on to a four-year institution for a bachelor’s degree or start a career as a writer

More than 400 students enroll in creative writing classes at NCC each year.

NCC is the first to offer an associate’s degree in creative writing in Minnesota and is considered a national leader among community colleges due to its unique and vigorous creative writing curriculum, according to a NCC news release.
