Thud. That's the noise you would hear if you were hit by a car while rocking out in the Metrodome parking lot. Unless, of course, it was on July 24 when Vans Warped Tour will take over the entire parking lot for a day completely devoted to music.
For many of us, Warped Tour has become somewhat of a ritual. For others, it is a time for friendship and mindless moshing while sweating profusely. And still others think of it as a way to collect free giveaways and cell phone plans. Either way, Warped Tour allows us to enjoy our favorite bands while being outside.
Billy Idol, Reliant K, Dropkick Murphy's, Atreyu, Mae and MXPX are just a few of the performers who will be appearing on the Minneapolis leg of the tour. Also scheduled to perform are Zao, Amber Pacific, Hopesfall, Notwithstanding, The Offspring and nearly 40 other bands.
Any information regarding the event itself has been kept secret. However, since Warped Tour was held in the Metrodome parking lot last year, veterans know what to expect.
Tickets are availabe at www. warpedtour.com. For $20.24, which includes a $.25 charity fee, you can get a ticket to the show and a free Vans Warped Tour 2005 compilation CD. The event is for all ages, so you can bring your underage girlfriend and her mom with if you want. |
