NCC honored Minnesota Education Commissioner Alice Seagren at NCC's sixth annual NCC Community Connections Award Gala at the Hotel Sofitel on Saturday, April 23.
Seagren is a member of the NCC Foundation board of directors. She also served in the Minnesota House of Representatives where she chaired the K-12 Education Finance Committee and served on the Education Policy, Ways and Means and Minnesota Legislative Permanent School Fund Advisory committees.
The Community Connections award Gala is an annual fundraising event for scholarships and other educational opportunities for students NCC students.
The evening included a gourmet dinner by the Hotel Sofitel's Executive Chef Serge Devesa, silent and live auctions and music by jazz performer Percy Hughes and NCC's own Ariel Trio chamber ensemble.
Previous recipients of this award include the WCCO radio team of Charlie Boone and Roger Erickson, world futurist Earl Joseph, motion picture film archivist Bob DeFlores, Jazz band leader Percy Huges and business leaders and philanthropists Lee and Babara Kopp. |
