Student leaders elected

Tyler J. Smith and Jake Englund have been elected as the new president and vice president, respectively, of the Student Senate.

Smith is currently serving as the communications director on the senate, and Jake Englund is currently running for the position of treasurer on the cabinet of MSCSA.

“Part of my goal as Student Senate President is just to find problems and fix them. Serving as the voice of students on campus is just that, serving as the voice. The key in that goal, however, is finding those problems to be voiced. Student issues are most certainly there, but they don’t spontaneously surface at meetings. They must be sought out, and it is the Student

Senate’s job to do that,” said Smith in an email.
