Filmmaker to present film on immigration

In his new film titled “Solving Immigration: The Truth Is Out There,” Mike Shiley aims to shine a spotlight on the growing issue of illegal immigration in the United States.

“Solving Immigration: The Truth Is Out There” will be showing on March 25 in the auditorium at 10 a.m.

Shiley will deliver a pre-film introduction, followed by a screening of the film and an extended audience discussion concerning possible non-partisan solutions to illegal immigration.

According to the United States Border Patrol, there are more than 12 million illegal immigrants living in the United States at any given moment.

Mike Shiley is the founder of Shidog Films; a video production company focuses mainly on issues pertaining to developing countries. Shiley strives to expose the neglected issue of immigration and share his compelling vision through his film.

His travels have taken him to over 36 countries and his previous projects have included documentaries on Thailand, Iraq, Cambodia and Nepal. Shiley tours North America for over 100 days every year between October and April to show his films and make live appearances to meet his fans.

In addition to being an award winning filmmaker, Shiley is also a free lance photographer and journalist with an impressive resume including writing exclusive pieces for ABC World News Tonight, Nightline, Good Morning America, KATU-Portland, KMGH-Denver and WFTS-Tampa.
