Sex offenders take notice,
Pulchinski is on the lookout
In recent weeks a level three sex offender took up residence in Eagan. A level three sex offender requires that residents of Eagan be notified to this person’s arrival into the community.
Level three also means that this person is most likely to re-offend. This sort of made my blood boil. |

Whenever I hear something about a sexual predator whether it’s a rapist or a child molester or anything else, I get downright angry at the way in which this person drifts his or her way through the justice system.
There are far too many stories about sexual predators who serve severely short prison terms and are released. Or they have been through “rehabilitation” and deemed safe enough to once again wander the streets. Someone could very well say to me, Adam, they have to wear electronic bracelets and check in with parole officers and counselors. To people who would say that I would say, yes, well, how many of these people have been shown to remove such electronic hardware and never show up to those appointments? Far too many.
There is the argument that these people suffer from a disease. But I think most people who commit crimes really aren’t in the right state of mind anyway. The majority of the law-abiding public has a hard time even contemplating how a person could consider an act such as molesting a little girl or taking someone’s life to be within the realm of that which is acceptable. That is because the people who do such things don’t think in terms of these acts being acceptable or not.
They do them. Sure, guilt may creep in afterward and the person wishes they may not have done something, but wishful thinking won’t resurrect the dead or give a child back their innocence.
Another lowlife that prowled the streets recently was the man in St. Paul who raped a 13-year old girl and a woman in her fifties. To law enforcement’s credit they have pursued this person aggressively in their investigation. What happens after he’s caught? Does he serve a prison sentence and then get to take up residence in Eagan as well? I would consider that coddling on an epic scale. My insanity might show if I was to say what I think should be done with such a person- no coddling involved is a good hint.
Imagine a group of zookeepers raising a lion cub. This lion cub is born and bred and the only thing it is fed is gazelle its entire life. When it reaches adulthood the zookeepers think, hey, it’s time to release this little guy into a wildlife sanctuary. So the lion is placed into the sanctuary to live out the rest of his days, all the while being tagged and monitored as most of us have seen if you have ever watched any nature show.
The name of the sanctuary is the Eagan Wildlife Preserve and the only other animals in the entire place are gazelles. Do I need to hammer home my point any more heavy-handed or is it pretty clear? I think it goes without saying that this lion isn’t going to start eating the plants anytime soon. There are some pretty screwed gazelles.
I could’ve written this column on any number of things and even considered doing a “topic round-up” (yee haw!), but there was a guest on the Montel Williams show the day before I sat down to write this little diatribe that persuaded me to do this topic instead. And don’t give me any shit for watching Montel. I get ten channels and it’s either that or an infomercial.
Montel had on Judy Cornett whose child was raped and left for dead. Of course the offender was release six years into his fourteen year sentence. After what she felt was a serious injustice Judy began to educate herself on the world of the sexual predator. She founded SafetyZone Advocacy, Inc and co-founded Operation: Predator Patrol. Essentially the organization tracks sexual offenders on the streets and monitors them. Predator Patrol educates people about the threats in their neighborhoods and even goes so far as to watch deviants for violations of their parole and reports it to law enforcement. Judy’s work has lead to many people being put back into prison.
If you want to find out more about Judy and Operation: Predator Patrol the website is
