Employment Conditions: This is a full-time, 12-month
position with a competitive salary and generous vacation, sick, and other

Salary Range: $81,327 to $130,127. We offer an

Position Statement
Normandale Community College offers a dynamic opportunity
for an accomplished and successful administrator to serve as Vice President
of Academic and Student Affairs. As a member of the college leadership team,
the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs provides the leadership,
vision, and oversight for instructional programs and student services at the
college.
• Plans and administrates a budget of approximately $32,000,000
consistent with the college’s strategic plan.
• Provides leadership and academic vision to FTE of 225 faculty under the
terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
• Manages credit and non-credit academic programming and the
administration of student affairs.
• Supports academic and professional excellence for students, faculty and
staff while promoting diversity, inclusion, and equity.
• Strengthens a collaborative, inclusive and visionary environment,
including a strong shared governance model.
• Facilitates strategic planning, shared problem solving, and decision
making.
Required Qualifications
• Master’s degree, with preference given to an earned doctoral degree.
• Experience teaching or counseling at the college level.
• At least five years progressively responsible administrative experience
in higher education.
Desired Qualifications and Characteristics
• Executive experience working in a unionized college or university
environment.
• Record of leading innovation and organizational change as it relates to
academic programs, workforce development, and student services and
activities.
• Demonstrated success in building and maintaining partnerships.
• Knowledge of and commitment to fulfilling the mission of a community

About Normandale
Normandale Community College is known for its strong academic programs,
community support and involvement, and the success of its students. In
addition to specialized certificate programs, we offer Associate Degrees in
Arts, Fine Arts, Applied Science, and Science. The college and staff have
received numerous accolades and national awards for excellence. We are
particularly noted for our nationally accredited music program, a four-year

The college seeks a dynamic and innovative

Position Responsibilities:
The Vice President of Finance and Operations is administratively responsible
for the operations of Fiscal Services, Information Technology, Auxiliary
Enterprises, Safety and Security, and the Physical Plant. The position also
manages facilities planning and capital projects.
The Vice President provides
executive leadership for the college’s budget, including budget and
financial planning and overall fiscal policy. Critical budgetary issues and
information are communicated to the college and the general community by the
Vice President.
As part of the President’s
Cabinet, the Vice President of Finance and Operations supports the college’s
teaching and learning process through institutional planning, resource
allocation, and other administrative functions, including strategic planning
and facilities master planning:
- Administrative leadership for the planning of
capital, remodeling and construction projects and the management of
implementation and budgeting for these projects.
- Support of the teaching and learning process
through institutional planning, resource allocation and other
administrative functions.
- Leadership and financial expertise in the
development of the college budget and implementation of overall fiscal
policy and procedures.
- Development and management of the college-wide
process of facilities master planning and the oversight of construction.
- Administrative leadership for strategic planning
and implementation of initiatives for the college.
- Serving as part of the President’s Cabinet in the
leadership of the college.
- Managing over 100 diverse staff from a variety of
work areas.
Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in a closely related field or an
equivalent combination of education and experience.

Progressively complex administrative/managerial
experience in a medium to large organization.

Experience managing fiscal and administrative service
operations.

Understanding of complex financial management and
experience in accurately forecasting financial position.
