ALLISS GRANT
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY GRANT FOR LIFE-LONG LEARNING?
This grant program is intended for adult learners who have been out of
school for at least seven years. The grant provides payment of tuition
for the first course, not to exceed five credits, and the actual cost of
books required for that course. The grant will apply to any
Normandale course that would be accepted an as integral part of a degree. It
may be used for one course for one semester only. You will be responsible
for payment of the fees, up to the five-credit maximum. This grant money is
made available by the ALLISS Educational Foundation.
ALLISS Grant recipients must:

Have been out of
high school at least seven years

Be enrolled in a
community college for the first time, or, have not enrolled in any
other college for the past seven years
-
Not have earned
a baccalaureate or higher degree

Only enroll in
courses that would be accepted as an integral apart of an A.A., A.A.S.,
or A.S. degree program (not a certificate or diploma program, or a
remedial course)

Must be a
Minnesota resident
Grant Administration

The grant is for
one semester only

A grant may be
used for a maximum of five credits, but for one course only

Applications for
ALLISS Grants will be accepted at the time of registration

Grants are
restricted and do not include courses that are required for on-the-job
training such as real estate or insurance courses

Grants may be
used for fall semester, spring semester, or summer session

Grants may be
used for required books and materials
Conditions for Reimbursement

Reimbursement is
for tuition and required book(s) only, for one class, up to five credits, for one semester
only. (excluded are student association fee, application or record fee,
special course fee, technology fee, and student activity fee)
