FEES CHARGED PER CREDIT: 2009-2010 SCHOOL YEAR
MSCSA (Student Association) Fee:
The Minnesota State College Student Association fee, assessed to all students,
provides for support of the statewide student association by providing training
and development of campus leaders, and lobbying of student interests with the
legislative and executive branches of the State of
Parking Fee: The parking fee provides parking lot renovation and repair, outdoor lighting, snow removal, and the services of the Campus Safety and Security Department. This can be waived for students who walk to the campus. As an incentive for students to use public transportation, the parking fee payment is used to provide a discount on bus passes. The parking fee is $3.75 per credit, $56.25 semester maximum. The parking fee is assessed to students and staff.
Student Activity Fee:
The student activity fee is assessed to all
students. The amount of this fee is determined by a student
committee. These funds are for the support and development of the Student
Senate, Student Clubs and Organizations,
Student Center Facility Fee: In January 2009, Normandale Community College’s Student Senate voted to renovate and expand the Kopp Student Center. The new Kopp Student Center will nearly double in size and provide much better services and facilities for all students. It will include expanded, more comfortable dining facilities, lounge spaces, meeting rooms, a new bookstore, retail store, a campus bank, study and computing spaces, as well as offices for student clubs, student organizations and campus Student Life staff. Construction is currently slated to begin in May 2010 with the new center opening approximately 9 months later. The student center facility fee is $5.00 per credit for the 2009-2010 school year.
Technology Fee: The technology fee, assessed to all students, is used to support student computer labs and other technology, including web enabled instructional management systems that directly relates to instruction. The fee is $8 per credit for the 2009-2010 school year.
Course Fee: Some classes, such as music, golf, CPR, and nursing, may have additional fees assigned to the class or program. Additional fees are noted in the course schedule.
OTHER FEES
Application Fee: A one-time non-refundable application fee of $20 is payable upon application.
Books and Supplies: Textbooks and supplies are available in the Normandale Bookstore. Generally textbooks cost approximately $350 per semester for full-time students. Supply costs vary greatly from program to program. Search for your textbooks online at http://www.normandalebookstore.com.
Graduation Fee: There is a $20 charge for each Associate degree, and a $10 charge for each certificate application processed, payable when applying to graduate. There is also a $15 fee to participate in the graduation ceremony.
Late Fee: There is a $25/semester fee charged to debtors who do not pay their account balance, in full, by the established deadlines.
Library Fine: Students who fail to return materials will be charged for all overdue library material.
Non-sufficient Funds/Returned Check Fee: When checks are returned to the college, due to non-sufficient funds (NSF), account closed or payment stopped, a fee of $30 is assessed for each check.
Orientation Fee: There is a $25 non-refundable fee for new student orientation.
Parking Fine: Parking citations are issued to students, staff, and visitors who do not comply with parking regulations.
Senior Citizens: Students 62 years or older who register on or after the first day of the semester, are eligible for Normandale’s reduced senior citizen rate, if space is available. Senior citizens who register before the first day of the semester must pay full tuition and fees.
Transcript Fee: There is a $8 charge for each academic transcript requested for mailing or pickup within three business days. $15 is charged for rush/immediate transcript preparation. No fee is charged for unofficial transcripts.
ID Replacement Card Fee: There is a $10 charge for each replacement student ID card.
