What do you like most about being a Counselor at Normandale?
In a word ... variety! I enjoy working with Normandale students who possess such a breadth of experience and knowledge. I also enjoy the range of professional arenas in which I am able to work. I enjoy being able to provide assistance to students who are working on questions and issues with regard to not only academia, but also personal issues and career exploration.

If you could give one piece of advice to an incoming Normandale student, what would it be?
"Ask a lot of questions. Make use of the human resources at Normandale! There is a lot of expertise available to you on this campus, so please make use of it."

What are your professional areas of interest?
I enjoy the process of helping students explore, gather information, and make educated decisions. I find the process of transitions (in the realm of academics, personal growth and career exploration) fascinating!

Where did you grow up and what is your favorite childhood memory?
I grew up in a little town north of the cities called Scandia. Some of my favorite childhood memories revolve around my mother taking me out of school to go see a concert, play or poetry reading at a nearby community college.

What are your interests or hobbies?
I love books and movies - particularly biographies and anything about American, British, or Korean history. I also like to paint (badly, I admit).
