What do you like most about being a Counselor at Normandale?
     I like helping students feel more confident about their journey toward a degree or a career or overall in life. It's nice when I can see that the confusion and stress have been lifted after our meeting together.

If you could give one piece of advice to an incoming Normandale student, what would it be?
     "Ask lots of questions and keep asking until you get the help that you need. Too many students seem to try to navigate things on their own and get frustrated because they don't quite know how to proceed."

What are your professional areas of interest?
     I enjoy teaching the career exploration class because I was totally undecided through college and understand what that is like. I also like working with students who are dealing with personal issues such as grief and loss, depression, etc. Students often learn that they are not alone in their feelings and, once they better understand them, can find ways to deal with them.
