(A discipline within the Mathematics/Computer Science Department)
The department addresses educational needs in the area of computer science as follows:
- provide an Associate of Science degree in Computer Science
- prepare students for transfer to a 4-year institution by providing them with the courses typically required in the first two years of study
- support the community by offering service courses that meet the retraining needs of computer professionals in the area of computer science
- provide a computer literacy course which will give all students basic knowledge of a computer, its components, applications and related social issues, as well as hands-on experience with current software applications
