        B.   Offered Spring Semester

        C.   No prerequisite; however, it is recommended HSMA 1100 be taken with this course.

 

II.     Catalog Description

To develop an understanding of the front office and its importance in the hotel information system.

 

III.    Learning Outcomes

        The student:

        A.   Will possess an understanding of the front office structure and operation, and gain an appreciation of its relationship to the total hotel or motel operation.

        B.   Will be able to define and discuss the different operational aspects of any front office.

        C.   Will possess the knowledge of the relationship of each department of the front office.

        D.   Will be able to analyze the skills of the front office personnel and all staffing requirements.

        E.   Will study selling and handling quests techniques in the field.

        F.   Will study the application and utilization of this knowledge and techniques.

        I.    Will understand the importance of developing a customer/guest oriented approach in front office operations.
