BUSN 2100 - Human Relations and Effective Teams (3 credits)
Offered: Fall, Spring
Prerequisites: None
Course Description: Focuses on the importance of personal and group
interrelationships within an organization. Topics covered are the
communication process, diversity, equal opportunity, workplace bias, group
leadership, and the psychological aspects of group dynamics.

IV. MAJOR CONTENT AREAS (TOPICS)
Personal behavior style profile. Understanding the
need for managing interpersonal relationship.
Styles under stress. Versatility.
Making accurate predictions about people. Develop
management strategies. Establishing shared purpose, forging shared operational
values, clarifying team roles and procedures, conducting effective meetings,
making effective decisions, confronting and resolving conflict, conducting
self-assessments and correcting problems, seeking organizational integration,
sharing rewards and celebrating, the team leader, 4 stages of teams, building
a strong foundation, leadership issues, social style and improving
interpersonal relationships in teams and leaders.

Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:

unique strengths and weaknesses of personal styles.
