II. Catalog Description: This course introduces the student to computer-generated art and will develop visual art concepts and techniques of digital imaging through the form of raster and vector software programs (Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator). Students will produce original work that reflects a high degree of individual expression. The focus of this course is on a broad exploration of the functions and uses of the computer in the visual arts. The conceptualization of the medium, the mastery of technical skills in computer graphics, and an appreciation of the historical development of the computer in art are the major emphases.
