Counseling Department

Veterans Resources

Veterans are welcome at Normandale. There are over 170 veterans attending Normandale and working toward a degree. The Counseling Department is eager to help veterans make successful plans for achieving their individual future goals.

Counselors are ready to help them with:

  • Educational Planning
"Which courses do I need to take to complete my degree and transfer on in a specific major?"
  • Career Planning
"How can I decide what is the right career for me?" We offer a Career Exploration Course (CCD 1170), and interest and personality assessments (The Strong and Myers Briggs).
  • Personal Planning
The adjustment back to civilian life, and to the demands of being a student is not easy. Counselors are able to meet with you, and help you with referrals when appropriate.

The Veterans Resource Center is a veteran-run center providing supportive resources. It is located in room C1072. Veterans are encouraged to stop by and get acquainted.

Your VA certifying official at Normandale is Lisa Marshall, located in Records.
