Associate in Arts Degree and
the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum

                                    FOR USE WITH 2008-2009 CATALOG

The general education portion of the Associate in Arts in Liberal Education is also know as the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC).

The Minnesota Transfer Curriculum is a collaborative effort among all Minnesota two and four-year public colleges and universities to help students transfer their work in general education. Completion of a defined transfer curriculum at one institution will enable a student to receive credit for all lower-division general education upon admission to any other institution.

The Associate in Arts Degree (AA Degree), which includes MnTC, meets the general education requirements for graduation from Minnesota State Universities, and the University of Minnesota. The following schools also accept the AA Degree as satisfying their general education requirements.
Minnesota schools: Argosy University, Augsburg College, Bethany Lutheran College, Capella University, College of St. Scholastica, Concordia University in St. Paul, and St. Mary's University.
North Dakota schools: Mayville State University, North Dakota State University, and the University of North Dakota.
Wisconsin schools: Northland College, UW-River Falls, UW-Stout, and UW-Superior.

Students seeking an AA Degree must complete the MnTC requirements and additional elective coursework (including Health and Exercise Science) for a total of 64 college-level semester credits.
